Cruise reservation system in Japan allows players to pick up and drop off passengers
Cruise reservation systems are already commonplace in the world of sports, but the system in which NFL players can reserve seats to take the field for a team in the NFL is an entirely new idea.
It allows players the ability to drop off and pick up passengers, and the NFL announced Wednesday it’s also introducing a similar system for international travel.
The league says the new system, called the “international team” system, will be available for use on all domestic games this season, starting in September.
The system is set to be launched next month.
The system allows players who don’t live in Japan to book seats online via a ticketing website, which allows the players to drop them off at designated hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls around the country.
If the player is dropped off at a hotel, they are asked to pay the required deposit, and players are then asked to pick them up in a designated pickup point.
